The Computer Science Department offers a variety of courses including introduction to computers, programming in a variety of languages, and computer data structures. Take our classes to complete lower division work and prepare to transfer to a four-year institution and earn a degree in Computer Science.

Data Science - Associate in Science Degree, Certificate of Achievement

The Data Science program is designed to provide practical literacy of the computational, statistical, and empirical methods and tools used by data scientists at all levels. The program addresses key areas of knowledge in data science, including data development and management; machine learning and natural language processing; statistical analysis and data visualization. Students will utilize computing technologies for big data applications.

Choose the Right Course for Your Goal

Non-STEM Major Start at CS 001, which has no prerequisites. You'll get an introduction to Computer Science to see if it's for you, all while fulfilling a GE requirement. 
STEM Majors If you are a CS major, start with CS 002, CS 003B, or CS 003C. If you are not a CS Major, start with CS 003C. Meet with a counselor to plan the courses you need to transfer.
Non-Transfer If you're not planning on transferring, you may want to look into some of the Computer Information Systems certificate programs which are designed for immediate entry to the workforce.
